These 4th graders have been working on real life skills by following drink recipe instructions, giving change to customers, and using their social skills when they deliver. They have also loved creating specialty drinks for each holiday and the Superbowl! You can guarantee to be met with a smile when they deliver your drink every Friday! 🙂

April 5 - 11, 2025 has been designated "Week of the Young Child" where we celebrate early learning, young children, their teachers and families. Palmyra R-1 recognizes the importance of early childhood education and the needs of young children and their families.
Our Parents As Teachers and Early Childhood programs work to prepare young Panthers for their entry into school. It takes a village and we are fortunate to have a strong community of early childcare providers and educators.
Take time next week to enjoy the Week of the Young Child artwork that will be displayed around town and also to say thank you to the early educators in your life!

Mrs. Manzke's 7th grade reading class finished a book in which the characters were stranded on a deserted island and survived on what they could find. This led the kids to see if they could crack open a coconut! They were able to sample the coconut water and eat the meat of the coconut.

Integrated Science class has been working on marble roller coasters and tested out their finished products. The coasters were made of paper and had to contain 4 design elements (curves, drops, funnels, tunnels, loops and steps). The goal was to keep the marble in motion for 10 seconds from start to finish, but 6 seconds was the record for this class. Great designs and lots of learning with this lesson!
